SI Sunderland is a vibrant, growing club of approximately 40 members - and we have lots of opportunities for ways you can get involved.

We’re always looking for volunteers to help organise events, arrange social activities, support our fund-raising projects or just generally roll up your sleeves and get stuck in - the choice is yours!

Our Club offers many opportunities to broaden your circle of friends, become better informed and really make a difference on important issues affecting women and girls, such as (among others) the environment, human trafficking, domestic violence, education and healthcare.

You will be able to use your enthusiasm, knowledge and skills to get involved in making things happen by volunteering to support local, national and international fund-raising projects. You’ll also have plenty of fun with like-minded women who feel exactly the same way you do!

We also have several opportunities to develop your knowledge and experience by volunteering for the ‘official’ roles which help run the Club, such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Programme Action Officer, Membership Officer and Social & Fund-raising Officer. You’ll be given help, support and training to move into any of these roles, plus there are lots of opportunities to meet other Soroptimists by attending local, regional and national events.

SI Sunderland meets at 7.15pm on the first and second Wednesday of every month at a local venue. We have one business meeting a month (to organise and discuss our volunteering activities and projects) and one supper night (an informal evening - usually with a guest speaker - involving good food, wine and lots of socialising!).

So why not come along as a guest to a supper night and/or a business meeting to find out more about what we do?

We’re always keen to attract new members so, for more information, please contact our Membership Officer, Cheryl, on 0191 567 1514.
